It almost took two years to get an update on this project but we are finally here. Please forgive me, the project is separated into a few parts. If I did it in one go it wouldn't have seen the light of day for many more years.

When I initially released the teaser I had a vision. But once it put to paper it was not as simple as it sounded. Months and months passed by and I was still rewriting and storyboarding. Eventually, my brother Glenn McGarry joined me in writing the entire story from the beginning. This got the ball rolling and a structure for A Hero's Purpose. Theory video after theory video, rewatching every scene in Ocarina and Majoras Mask, trying to tie things together, all to make for this entire series to feel as canon as possible. The biggest hurdle was figuring out how strange of a job Nintendo did with Ocarina of time's ending. So we tried our best to make sense of how Ganondorf would have handled Link returning to the timeline we think was the most correct. Ganondorf's fleeing was tough to create, but please be patient! It will be worth it!

The entire scroll idea was obviously inspired by Wind wakers intro, but to put the icing on the cake I reached out to voice actor Sean Chiplock (Voice of the Great Deku Tree, Revali, and Teba) to be the narrator of the scroll! Was an absolute honor to work with him, he's an incredibly humble and phenomenal person! Check his stuff out here:

After many delays and changes in the story, it's finally ready to be released! Episode 5 IS HERE!

I'm nervous for you all to see this part of the story because up until now I've been playing it safe with the story, but now we're approaching the grey area between Majoras mask and Twilight Princess, and the area we all have very little information on what went down then.
So our mission was to make something that could exist in the world of Zelda but also wanted to make something that was interesting and entertaining, reaching that I would have to make some tough decisions. I'm very happy with the ideas we have poured into this episode, I hope you enjoy it!

Ganondorf is a character I always wanted more from, but we never got to hear much from him. So we hope you like the Ganondorf we have created and that it is something believable!

A scene from the original that is one of my top moments in the game! Link slowly walking towards the stump says a thousand words. Also, Sheiks dialogue from the original is so deep hahaha amazing! I wanted to take that next step with how Link was thinking on his way to the forest temple.

Ocarina of Times ending on the original is an absolute joke! Link looks a tool having no reaction to any of what Zelda says. So I made this little animation to see what my spin on the Legendary games ending would look like!!

• This was a blast to make also! I love giving the Hero of time Link some love, he gets shafted in Oot

• Sadly i do not have a Young Zelda model so i couldn't make the iconic ending that we all see at the end of the original game. So i strongly suggest watching the original ending and compare hahaaha

The one scene where I thought like actually showed some life and character! When he slams the crystal was huge for me when I was young. So I had a lot of fun re-creating it

I cut out A LOT literally I had an entirely different ending, fully animated, ill post it sometime

I started animating this when my composer Brock Hewitt: Stories in sound was on his internship at Hanz Zimmers place in LA, so I decided to use one of his buddies to compose this videos score!

Ian is a hilarious guy who is a GENIUS on the keys, true pianist I gave him a few pointers here and there but I wanted him to do him on this one! Let us know what you think! Breath of the wild vibes

This was more of a mini scene due to all the talking, not much happens, so I hope you can still enjoy it as much as the others!

I added at the end of this scene a moment that the Zelda community has been DYING for, so I hope I did it justice !!

After Link destroys the evil inside the Deku Tree, Link returns to the Deku Trees final wishes.

Sorry, this took so long!

This was my take on the Great Deku trees death scene.
Was by far the most tossed aside scene in the series LOL. Links literal only real guardian dies in front of him

and in Oot it was sooo stale...

Besides that It was fun to do this one because of how ironic it was to me as a kid! and I added my own spin at what the Deku should've said.
I noticed he never really said by or told Navi goodbye especially Navi ahahaha she just was Sunday driving thru that scene in the original LOL

The process of making this made me really appreciate my parents, anyone whos ever comforted you is someone very special regardless of what happens down the road. Tell the people you love, that you love them!

A scene that was in dire need of more expression. Darunia's moment with Young Link is absolutely awful... literally links facedown all scene and the camera doesn't MOVE!! WHATTT... Now I'm not saying I know everything, especially since this video isn't my best work... Daruina had no IK so animating him was a pain.

and yes the Gorons in the back are n64 rips hahahaahah literally had no other choice, hopefully, they don't ruin the experience they were terrible models

My take on Sarias goodbye to Link during the beginning of Ocarina of time.

I wanted to make a behind the scenes video for the channel so I decided to make this video because it was short and sweet

My biggest goal when I was creating this remake was to fix that awful runaway Link pulls ahhahaah
Saria lays her guts out to him and Link doesn't crack a smile he just jets out

I assumed they wanted Link to be flustered or something but I believe they could've been clearer about that.

So I made it so Link heard her words and gave a clear response (making it more of a happier moment... maybe) but I also wanted to keep that same feeling we all had when he ran away so I let a few scenes hold, I also wanted to have Sarias reaction to Link leaving but I decided against it cause it'd give away too much lol

I have a behind the scenes video almost done and another 10 min animation halfway done, if you like Ocarina of time you'll enjoy it a lot

HAhahahaha everyone seems to be commenting on Sarias model
It's an adult Saria model that I crushed down to look young. The model isn't that great also mesh is twisted and light bounces off her eyelids and some polygons flicker on her headband

Whatever your view is on her model, that model is the only reason this video happened unless you are ok with the no expression 3Ds model I could've used lol

The original scene was pretty simple so I tried to add a little more flare. This one was hard cause I liked the original scene but after watching the original a few times I realized that Sheik drops some heavy lines in it hahaha like for real she had no queue to say those lines but she did it anyway.

"I forget to enjoy the little things"

A scene that had me asking so many questions after I saw it for the first time!

When sheik just walks slowly behind Link and stares was so cool!
I gave her some inner dialogue as to what I thought she would be saying, hopefully, I didn't ruin the cool moment the original created

I'm still trying to have some character development with Sheik during these scenes while also trying to keep faithful to the original by keeping her cryptic

I had to re-upload due to a cut I left in that was totally an error! My bad!!

I will forever like the original better for the environment. I’m so sad I couldn't replicate the particles that the original had glowing in the background haha haha. As for using the environment I felt like they lost an opportunity to explore some unique acting and dialogue because the original only had them both standing ten feet away the entire time, I will say tho, Link running after sheik as she vanishes said a million words when I was a kid. As if Link really wanted a solid chance to talk to Sheik and learn about him cause in my brain I think it's fair to think that Link doesn't know how to feel about Sheik is he good or bad..

I had fun making the environment from scratch just tossing props together!
Jay the guy who does my sound did an absolute KILLER job on the ice and snow sound in this one big ups to him!

How can Link make up for what hes done?

Well a few comments asked to make a sequel, and at first I was like ahh how can i do that.... then i found this song and this is the idea I got after listening to it!!

I thought i was kinda being lame by making a sequel but after i animated Link holding Zelda walking i was like... this needs to happen hahah

I think I can honestly say I've gotten a tad better with SFM, still need a lot of work, some models just give me a tough time combined with my laziness hahahha

I couldn't believe the reaction i got from my last video! 300+ views and my channel blew up! I cant thank you all enough!! i didn't know how to react haha. Especially with all the nice comments i was speechless i still continue to thank you all!

On the other hand a few comments were saying how my animation is bad, and i don't know why people have to write that, like i know i'm not a god and i never said i was amazing, Its just unnecessary negativity. I'm fine with constructive criticism and " the animation is really bad" is in a totally different category 😄

Last thing! I just wanna thank everyone who supported me in getting this video out! You know who you are 😉

13 minutes.... I'm sorry about that hahaah I never intended for it to go on this long then i thought about making it two parts... but this isnt Harry Potter so i just left it all hahaah I hope you stay entertained the entire time!

I put my average animation knowledge to the test in this one HA! made some scenes that i'm very proud of!! I still have clipping and sliding but try and look passed it hahaha rip me.

I'm just gonna say it... this is personally my best edit to date. This video basically made itself, Hear me now has been my favorite for awhile but after i made this.... that's changed

I am just so proud of how it turned out, AND A MINT ZELDA MODEL WAS RELEASED RIGHT WHEN I STARTED THIS.... a blessing in disguise 😉 which made the animation so much easier!

Also on a down note, after this edit i might be much slower with uploads started school 3 or 2 weeks ago and once the homework gets goin it'll be hard to keep up with videos (unless i find an awesome song and cant help it :DD)
